How and when did the name Camara de Lobos come about, and on which island is it located? In a short animated film, Portuguese sailors rediscover the archipelago around Madeira known as the place of fishermen and sailors.

  • Reason for making the movie:

    The reason for making this film was the intention for a group of alternative education students to process the topic of the creation of their country in a more playful way. With this intention in mind, we (in cooperation with the EDUCAmedia program, with 3 teachers and a group of students) proceeded to create a scenario and materials and then to take pictures.

  • Other information:

    The film was created by a team of children between the ages of 6 and 8, who were both animating and writing the screenplay of the film.

    This project also had 3 teachers collaborating: Rui Duque, Natália Mendonça and Cristina Perestrelo. Their roles consisted of orientating the script, explaining the technique of the animation to the children and the final editing.
