Another success for Czech film talents: Four Czech films selected for the Enimation Festival in Maribor!

We are pleased to announce that four films by young Czech creators will be part of the prestigious Enimation Festival 2024 in Maribor, Slovenia. This festival, held from November 12 to 16, offers young filmmakers worldwide a platform to showcase their work, share ideas, and develop their skills in a creative environment.

About the ENIMATION Festival:

Enimation Festival is an international showcase of films created by children and youth, encouraging creativity and collaboration among young filmmakers from around the world. The festival’s competitive sections are divided by age: MINI (up to 10 years old), MIDI (ages 11 to 14), and MAXI (ages 15 to 19). Each year, the festival includes a special thematic category, this year titled Taking care ..., focusing on themes of care and responsibility. Slovenian filmmakers can also submit their films to both the international and Slovenian competition programs.

From a pre-selection, 10 films are chosen in each category, with an expert jury selecting the winners. Selected films are screened in theaters and on festival online platforms, making the works accessible to a global audience.

The Czech films selected for Enimation Festival 2024:

  • D.A.R.I.O. by Stella Zettlitzová – This 3D animated film from the Secondary School of Art in Ostrava explores the cyber world and humanity's need for connection in an increasingly digital age.

  • Potlach by Kristýna Košutová – A film capturing the essence of traditional camping and a bond with nature.

  • Klíček by Aneta Vašková – A moving and sensitive story providing an inspiring look at growth and transformation. Aneta’s film stands out for its visual elegance and explores the transitions in life with depth and artistry.

  • Marcel Marceau – Created by a group of children aged 10 to 14, this film pays tribute to the legendary French mime Marcel Marceau. It emphasizes the universal language of art, humor, and creativity, transcending cultural and linguistic boundaries.

Congratulations to all the young creators on the selection of their films for this international festival! We wish them the best of luck and look forward to audiences in Maribor enjoying and celebrating their work.
