Introducing the filmmakers - Ella Fields
Today we start introducing the filmmakers who are registered in our festival. Let's start with Ella Fields.
Ella Fields is a Los Angeles based filmmaker, photographer, Youtube influencer, and artist. She uses elements of magic and fantasy to tell stories of love, identity, and what it is truly like to come of age in this era. From imaginary friends, to a first love, to a healing process of a sexual assault, Ella has created nearly 30 short films by the age of 17 years old.
She is registered at the festival with film Over the moon. Fairy-tale lands, trying to fit in and leaving our past selves behind. August is spending the last night in her childhood bedroom when she finds a box of her old children’s books. A short fiction film on reliving past experiences, thinking of our younger selves and parting with them in the end.
Second film is Caterpillar Kisses. It is about butterflies, a heartbreak and changing into a new form. After getting the feeling of butterflies in her stomach for the first time, a girl also finds out that love can also lead to pain and heartbreak. A short film on breaking out of the chrysalis and deciding if change is desirable if it means for a butterfly to turn back into a caterpillar.
