YOUNG TALENTS HEAD TO YCN AWARDS!
A-FilmTeens has nominated four films for the prestigious Youth Cinema Network Award!
We are very happy to announce that A-FilmTeens has nominated four amazing films for the prestigious Youth Cinema Network Award (https://www.youthcinemanetwork.org/ycn-award) Our young filmmakers are once again showing that talent knows no age limits.
In the Workshop category, we have nominated a great animated eco-thriller from the Nová Ves children's home near Chotěbor Ronald´s Pilgrimage to the Centre of the Earth, which was created thanks to the Okna do sveta initiative and under the guidance of lecturers from the Aniděti association. This film tells a compelling story and highlights important environmental issues.
In the category up to 14 years of age, the moving documentary It Was Really Geat by 12-year-old Martina Inostroza, which was produced in the framework of the A-FilmTeens competition and the Škoda Auto Foundation, will compete. You could have seen this documentary at our 3rd edition of the festival.
In the under 19 category, the kind story of the life of Unfamiliar Familiarity by Jiří Toupal, nominated for the MICHAEL school, will compete. This film, with its gentle humour and humanity, shows that real connections can be made in unexpected circumstances and endure even the most difficult challenges.
In the under 27 category goes the historical film from the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, The Compatriot by Pavel Sýkora and Viktor Horák, which is also up for a student Oscar!
Where can you see these films?
At our festival, which will take place from 12 to 23 February 2025.
Keep your fingers crossed for our young filmmakers, we believe they will impress the jury with their talent as much as they impress us!
