Throwback at the weekend Q&A with the filmmakers of the competition films

Two days of inspiring interviews with filmmakers competing at the A-FilmTeens Fest took place over the weekend. Each day, we brought you three Q&A blocks in which our guests shared their creative processes, thoughts and the stories behind their films. The interviews were moderated by our colleague Zuzana Nevolova and brought many interesting moments.
Saturday Q&A - animation, documentary and feature films
On Saturday, we welcomed a wide range of talented filmmakers behind diverse films across genres:
- Kinga Lendvai-Kontár (Take it EaZzZy) - A short animated comedy about a bear who is preparing for a peaceful Halloween until he is distracted by a cheeky fly.
- William Fidler (Fantasy) - An experimental film following two children discovering the dream world they create as they play.
- Bryn Wright (Metamorphoses) - An animated film about the metamorphosis of animals as a metaphor for growing up.
- Rohan Hassan (Binary Singularities) - A live-action sci-fi film about a man who wakes up hanging from cables and faces an unknown captor.
- Nikolina Riselius (The Light) - Dystopian story of a blind woman and her dog trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world.
- Štěpán Havlín (Hideaway) - A documentary portrait of poet Karla Erbová in the last artistic stage of her life.
- Gabriela Čížková (Morana) - An animated film about a Slavic goddess and the traditions associated with her.
- Ruadhán O'Suileabhain (Under Eighteen) - Feature film about a teenage boy who must decide between moral principles and peer pressure.
Sunday Q&A - Feature films, documentaries and absurdity
Sunday brought another batch of inspiring interviews with talented filmmakers:
- Anastazija Spacic (Fear of Being Heard) - A documentary about sexism in the video game world and why girls often choose silence.
- Ava Bounds (Anna McGee's Wild Ride) - A feature film about a girl who flies through her entire future in a traffic jam.
- Valeria Hammar Fuentes (Corázon Corázon) - A feature film about young love and unexpected life changes.
- Miro Alleyne-McCarthy (Pie) - An absurdist feature allegory about human greed as five people compete for the one perfect slice of pie.
- Jesse Wilbers & Noris Rameckers (w̵r̸u̴s̷b̶u̵u̴h̴w̷h̵s̸h̵h̷w̶u̵w̵) - A satirical film about the incomprehensibility of language and absurd situations.
- ZUŠ Kolín (Hair) - A documentary about the importance of long hair in the communist era from the perspective of photographer Zdeněk Hejduk.
- ZUŠ Kolín (Marcel Marceau) - An animated documentary about the famous mime and his connection to the Czech town of Kolín.
- Lana Gredelj (Three Colors) - A short experimental documentary about the perception of life after personal loss, using land-art and soundscapes to express the unspoken.
- Shabnam Alimardani Shafigh & Merle (Yasmin) - A feature film about a first date that goes awry due to subtle racist remarks.
- Anežka Vrbová (Flight of the Bird) - An animated film about freedom in the middle of a grey city.
