The director of the A-FilmTeens festival, Zuzana Dražilová, was today a guest on Host Radiožurnálu, where she presented this year's festival, whose theme is "Joy", and also opened the topic of the perception of the current generation of young filmmakers and their view of the world.
In her interview, Dražilová points out interesting subjects and situations that arise during the festival and especially focuses on how this year's theme has been handled by young filmmakers. She states that it was more difficult for the young filmmakers to deal with joy - their films tend to reflect more challenging life situations and feelings they experience. "The films directly reflect what these kids and teenagers are living, what they are feeling and how they perceive the world. It's still a question for me whether the main target audience shouldn't be the parents and grandparents of those children ," Dražilová said.
She said the festival is not only for young viewers, but should also reach out to parents and grandparents to better understand the world of today's generation. Media education also plays an important role - young creators learn not only technical skills, but also critical thinking and expressing themselves through creativity.
The interview with Zuzana Dražilová not only revealed the background of the A-FilmTeens festival, but also reminded us of the importance of supporting young creators and their ability to tell their stories to the world. The festival remains an inspiration for young filmmakers and their audiences, not only their peers but also adults who can find in these stories the key to understanding the new generation.
