Author's note: An image of a baby being thrown out of the window popped into my head. Lovely isn't it? I wanted to create a story from this image and here you have 'Anna McGee's Wild Ride': my attempt to show the speed and absurdity of life in less than two minutes. I hope you enjoy the journey (I'm not sure that Anna did).
Ava (Winner, IMDb New Filmmaker 2021) is a teenage writer/director who makes tasteful, absurdist dramas that explore the depths of humanity through its eccentricities. Her films appeal to young people aged 16–25 who want to be shaken into the joy of living.
Many of her shorts have been selected and won at several international film festivals including BAFTA and Academy Award qualifying. Ava continues to deliver award–winning cinema as she hatches fresh story ideas about ordinary odd bods who journey from illusion to reality.
When Ava isn’t creating her next award–winning film, you can find her swimming in Yorkshire rivers while munching on a slab of Soreen.
