Diana Cam Van Nguyen - animator
She is a Czech director, artist and FAMU graduate of Vietnamese origin. She is one of the most prominent personalities of the emerging generation of filmmakers. She specializes in animated documentaries. She chooses themes that are mainly personal and her successful films have already travelled all over the world. They have competed at festivals in Locarno, Rotterdam, Toronto and at the IDFA in Amsterdam. Her film "Alone Together" has won several important awards - for example, at the IDFF Jihlava 2018 for Best Czech Experimental Film, and was among the three finalists of the BAFTA Student Award 2019.
Her most successful short film to date is "Love, Dad", which won the Czech Lion and the Czech Film Critics Award for Best Short Film of 2021, the Magnesia Award for Best Student Film and other international awards and special mentions at the BFI London Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand, Toronto and DOK Leipzig. The AFI Grand Jury Award 2021 and the Flickerfest Documentary Short FIlm Award qualified the film for the Oscars 2023.
